Change puts you in a good mood!

Why change puts you in a good mood and really helps you move forward

Change has a bad reputation: stressful, uncomfortable, risky. But you know what? Change can actually put you in a good mood – if you know how to use it to your advantage.

In this article you will learn:

  • why change increases your energy level

  • how small steps can make a big difference

  • and how you can bring more ease into your life with change

Change for more energy

Clarity, structure, security — routines, in short, are important and often protect us from being overwhelmed and decision-fatigue. But too much routine can make you tired inside. If you think, do, and feel the same thing every day, eventually the excitement disappears. No growth, no surprises.

Change brings back exactly that:

  • New impulses

  • Fresh perspectives

  • A good amount of excitement (the positive kind!)

  • creativity

Because our brain loves new things – and rewards them with dopamine. And dopamine = mood boost.

Furthermore, every change is an invitation to step out of your comfort zone. And even if that sometimes takes courage, that's precisely where the positive effect of change lies.

Maybe you know the feeling of thinking after taking a courageous step:

“I never thought I could do that!”

This pride, this self-efficacy, this satisfaction of having overcome something a little harder — that's pure self-confidence gold. And it's a real mood booster.🌈

Minimal change, maximum effect

By the way, not every change has to involve a job change or a move. Even small changes have power – for example:

  • a new morning routine

  • a social media detox day

  • Say “no” when you usually say “yes”

  • listen to new music or go to work differently

Sounds too small to have an impact?

Yes, we're used to thinking that way. It always has to be a big change, otherwise it somehow doesn't "count."

In James Clear's book "The 1% Method," he illustrates this misconception with an example. He says that if a plane takes off from LA and flies east, a 1-degree difference in the steering is enough to land it in Washington instead of New York. One degree may not seem like much, but over time, every small change has a pretty significant effect (in this case, a whopping 380 km!) 🚀

Micro-changes send a signal to your subconscious: I'm active. I'm shaping my own life. And that makes you grow!

So don't be fooled by the misconception that "only big (perfect) changes bring results." Every step counts. But so does your attitude toward change!

And what about the fear of it?

Change often sounds easier in theory than it feels. Because not every change is pleasant — and that's perfectly okay.

We humans are programmed to prefer what is familiar – even when it's no longer good for us. Change means leaving our comfort zone. And that brings not only growth but also, at first, uncertainty.

But here's the crucial point: how you deal with this uncertainty makes all the difference.

Instead of fighting change, you can learn to work with it.

Openness instead of resistance: Resistance takes energy. Openness creates space – for new experiences, insights, and possibilities you might not have even been able to see before.

Curiosity instead of fear: Ask yourself: What could also be good? This attitude helps you see change not as a threat, but as an invitation – to develop, to learn, to grow.

Trust instead of control: You don't have to have everything under control to feel safe. Trust — in yourself, in the process, in life — can make you far more stable than any control strategy.

If you manage to view change not as an enemy but as a companion, your inner approach will radically change. Then change will no longer be a threat – but a resource. A tool that strengthens you.

Not every change is pleasant – but how you deal with it is up to you.

  • Openness instead of resistance

  • Curiosity instead of fear

  • Trust instead of control

If you embrace change rather than fight it , it becomes a resource, not a threat.

Conclusion: Change is fun – if you invite it

Change isn't a necessary evil. It's a tool. A gift. And sometimes even a true (happiness) accelerator.

👉 Your next step

Take a minute and ask yourself: What could you change today that would make you feel freer tomorrow?

📝 Write it down.💬 Talk to someone about it.🌱 Or take the first small step right away.

Change doesn't begin on the outside — it begins with a thought. If you're waiting for a sign: Here it is 😎
